a canal-side gem
amazing food comfortable bed coffee machine
the pub was lovely with amazing food. i really enjoyed visiting. the room was perfect, immaculate and the bed was so comfortable. a bonus was a coffee machine. and the shower room. was great!

Acceptable Stay Near the Canal
great size clean room helpful staff excellent location hot room shower drain body fluids
The location is excellent , a nice stroll into the city along the canal is possible. The room was a great size , very nice and clean. The staff were very helpful.
The room was very hot and a little fan could not bring relief. I spotted body fluids on the cushions , it was not nice. The shower didn't drain , the tray filled up with water quickly.

private bathroom quiet setting canal location
The room had a private bathroom (super convenient!). i saw the lodge was separate from the main inn, and i appreciated that quiet setting. the canal is right there. I could walk into the city along its bank easily.
The self-closing fire doors were a bit annoying. They didn't help with ventilation.

EXCELLENT stay!
clean room ironing board great food scrambled eggs
The room was CLEAN. It included an ironing board and many plug sockets which was very convenient. The food in the restaurant was GREAT. I enjoyed the selection of food for the evening meal and the Sauvignon Blanc. The breakfast offered freshly made scrambled eggs and bacon. I WILL return.
The room could get a little warm and the fan might not be enough during the PEAK of summer.

The hotel's location is near the river providing scenic views. There is AMPLE free, secure parking. Outdoor seating is available for drinks or food. The bed was comfortable.

I tried breakfast and two evening meals, both were BEAUTIFUL. The food included good selection of choices. The breakfast has delicious, freshly made scrambled eggs and bacon. The inn offers an outdoor seating area.

the location offered easy access into town. friendly staff handled my check in with speed and professionalism.

loud music slamming doors
the food was pretty good at the pub connected to the hotel, its convenient.
the room felt stuffy, even after i opened the windows. loud music kept playing in the main building, really irritating me when i was on the terrace. also, the self-closing fire doors slammed shut all the time, it did little to improve ventilation.

canal location separate block quiet stay friendly staff
the location by the canal was particularly charming, i enjoyed a pleasant walk to the city center along the bank. the separate accommodation block was a welcome feature. the staff was very friendly from arrival through breakfast.
I noticed the carpets could use a more thorough cleaning due to some mud stains. it was a minor issue.

the room featured a comfortable bed. it also had a kettle and a nespresso machine. the expansive shower provided plenty of hot water and fluffy towels were available for use.

the hotel is situated close to the city, yet it offers a countryside setting, assuring a calm environment. the separate building for the rooms, away from the main hotel, also contributed to the quiet atmosphere. it was very quiet at night.

the breakfast service required ordering from a menu, but the eggs benedict proved very delicious. there was a cozy outdoor area. a dedicated section for smokers with benches was provided. the ale was well-kept.

The staff displayed excellent manners during breakfast service. they demonstrated genuine care for each person in the dining area. one staff member assisted someone who was choking. He was very cool about the situation. this was comforting.

parking spaces were plentiful and convenient. i noticed that glamping tipi rentals are available for those interested. a bar was present on the premises adding to the leisure options. the breakfast room was very nice
